HaShomer HaChadash’s Call Center is a pilot program providing a national call center that operates 24/7 and responds to farmers’ reports in real time during incidents of agricultural crime and emergency situations. The call center was established in response to needs that arose from the field and with the understanding that farmers need real-time assistance. Volunteers operate the Call Center at night and direct volunteers and enforcement agencies to event sites with a customized, location-based app.

The call center model works in stages: identifying the incident, sending out responders, documenting and debriefing. Operators receive information from farmers regarding agricultural crime, receive updates from volunteers at the site and provide responders with a clear picture of the situation.

Additionally, the call center documents incidents of agricultural crime and assists enforcement agencies throughout the process of bringing perpetrators to justice.

The call center does not operate independently and relies on the various response units. These include the Israel Police, HaShomer staff (field coordinators and regional patrols), HaShomer’s Border Police Unit, HaShomer’s Jeep Unit as well as rescue and medical units. HaShomer HaChadash’s call center is just one of many tools used by HaShomer HaChadash to identify incidents and respond with the aim of preventing and deterring agricultural crime.
